Research-led
Ticcare — tic management, made gentler.
A companion app for tracking tics and unpacking the patterns that surround them — what triggers them, what eases them, what a clinician needs to see. Designed alongside research with people living with Tourette's and related conditions.
Overview
Tics are inherently inconsistent — they shift with mood, sleep, stimulation, and stress. Most tracking tools force a flat, clinical model onto something that's really a moving target. Ticcare leans into that movement.
The app pairs a low-effort logging primitive with a longitudinal view that helps both the user and their clinician see signal through the noise.
Problem
Outline the gap between clinical assessment tools and a patient's lived experience, and what makes tic logging especially difficult.
Process
Describe research interviews, secondary literature review, and the iteration that led from a journaling concept to a tap-first logger.
Solution
Detail the final feature set, the visual language, and how the logging primitive minimises cognitive load mid-tic.
Outcome
Capture usability test learnings and the path forward.
